Rojan Dizon liebt sein Leben, so wie es ist: tagsüber mit ein paar Tricks gutes Geld verdienen und abends irgendwelche Mädels abschleppen. So lässt es sich in Mahala leben.

Das könnte auch so weitergehen, wenn da nicht dieser eine Auftrag gewesen wäre. Und dann noch die Sache mit seinem Bruder, der sich ironischerweise in Mahala viel weiter nach oben gearbeitet hat, als Rojan das bislang annahm.

Die Tochter seines Bruders wurde entführt und wer wäre besser für das Auffinden geeignet, als Rojan, der Schmerzmagier, der mit seiner magischen Kraft an jeden Ort Mahalas gucken und sie daher leicht finden kann.

Um seine magische Kraft aufzufüllen, muss sich Rojan Schmerzen zufügen. Zwar macht er das nicht oft, aber wenn, dann kann er sich einfach den Arm auskugeln und schon fließt die Magie durch ihn hindurch - ihn wieder einzukugeln bringt übrigens noch mal so viel.
